Meredith, Owen, Stephanie, and Webber are in a late-night surgery, and Webber becomes immediately angry that they're treating the patient like "a bag of organs on a table." He asks Stephanie to create an identity for the patient on the table, so that they'll take what they're doing more. And Grey's Anatomy believes it, too, and they're going to keep proving it. But I believe the future is still female. I wish I knew how to turn all of that into some brilliant commentary on what's happening in our culture, and what role TV plays in it all, and whether that's good or bad, but right now, pretty much all I know how to do is panic. And, actually, okay, this is probably the best time to point out that it's really strange to watch - let alone write about - Grey's Anatomy less than 48 hours after the world came crashing down, especially since I haven't really done anything other than cry and sleep since.
